Contractors for work have been approved

Updated: Aug 11, 2021

It was a fantastic meeting as the quotes and contractors for the upcoming work on All Saints' Church were approved. With many hours of discussion, conversation and review, it was decided that we would engage Martin Roofing to re-roof All Saints', and Eric Wigg Painting to re-paint the building

We wanted to make sure that the price was competitive, the company reputable and that all contractors had the capacity to complete the work in a timely manner during a shortage of labour and supplies in the building industry.

The decision to go with these companies was based on several criteria, including price, size of company, competitiveness of quote and thoroughness of exploration. We felt both Martin Roofing and Eric Wigg Painting had the greatest handle on the project and what would be involved, as well as the size and capacity to deliver the project on time in a squeezed building mark.

Between the two quotes, the price of the work comes to a total of $107,500 with $56,500 of this the painting and $51,000 the re-roofing. We are aware there will be remedial work that is unable to be quoted as it will not become apparent until the work begins and so to ensure this is managed we are seeking to raise $120,000 which is the more likely overall total cost.
